UPFRONT COSTS & REQUIREMENTS: The State of Utah, Department of Child Care Licensing, requires all staff be fingerprinted and have a back ground check completed by NEXT GENERATION before employment begins. The cost is $53.25. If you have previously been fingerprinted through NEXT GENERATION, then you will not need to redo prints but you will need to pay a $20.00 processing fee to rerun your background check. If your background check was completed within this past year, then there is no additional fee at all. The State of Utah Department of Health requires all child care workers to have a current Food Handlers Permit. This permit is $20.00-$25.00 and is good for 3 years. The above background check and Food Permit is yours and is transferable to other places of work. I understand that it is my responsibility to pay for the above fees.
